Cartoviq Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 8, 2026
Cartoviq is a Shopify storefront-monitoring app operated by PraxisArc. This policy explains what information Cartoviq processes, how that information is used, and the choices available to merchants.
Information we process
When a merchant installs or uses Cartoviq, the app processes:
- Shopify store information, including the shop domain and installation status.
- Authentication and session information required to connect securely to Shopify.
- Public product and variant information needed for monitoring, including identifiers, titles, handles, storefront URLs, and availability.
- Automated monitoring records, including check times, outcomes, response times, HTTP status codes, technical error details, the product tested, incident history, and scheduling information.
- A temporary test cart containing one available product variant and its resulting Shopify checkout URL. This is used only to verify that the cart and checkout path are available.
- An email address and message content if a merchant contacts us for support or submits a privacy request.
Cartoviq does not place orders, complete checkouts, charge payment methods, or access customer names, postal addresses, phone numbers, order records, or payment-card information.
Customer data and tracking
Cartoviq does not collect information directly from a merchant's customers. It does not use storefront cookies, web pixels, or other tracking technologies to monitor customer behavior, and it does not record how customers browse a store.
How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Check storefront, product-page, cart, and checkout-path availability.
- Display store-health results, response times, and availability history.
- Detect, confirm, open, and resolve storefront incidents.
- Schedule monitoring checks and prevent duplicate runs.
- Maintain the security and reliability of the app.
- Respond to support, privacy, and legal requests.
We do not use this information for advertising, customer profiling, or purposes unrelated to providing and supporting Cartoviq.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell merchant or customer information. Information may be processed by Shopify and by service providers used for secure application hosting and database storage. These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to Cartoviq or as required by law.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to a valid legal request, protect the rights and security of merchants or others, or investigate abuse of the service.
Data retention and deletion
Monitoring and account information is retained while Cartoviq is installed and only for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Authentication sessions are removed when the app is uninstalled. Remaining shop-specific information is deleted following uninstall, a verified deletion request, or Shopify's shop-redaction request, unless continued retention is required by law.
Temporary test carts are not used for purchases and are not used to identify customers.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Information may be processed in countries other than the merchant's country, subject to applicable safeguards and law.
Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, merchants may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of their personal information. Requests involving Shopify customer data are handled through Shopify's mandatory privacy-request process.
We may need to verify the identity and authority of the requester before completing a privacy request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Cartoviq's functionality, data practices, service providers, or applicable requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published.
